Welcome to the Blog

Well, I'm back to blogging for a readership of tens of people again...

I've been writing professionally part-time for about the last 4 years, but before that, during the inception of the pandemic, I had previously begun a blog that consisted of lengthy movie reviews. I figured it would've provided some samples that would help convince others to hire me for the only real talent I have. And to my surprise and joy, it worked. I've previously written for companies like Game Night Live and websites like Screen Rant, and I couldn't have been happier with the position I was having at CBR.

Yeah. That's right, "couldn't have been happier". Past tense. The company is apparently experiencing some operational changes and shakeups, which meant a decrease in output. It also meant that they needed to make changes to their roster of writers...

I had a good run there, and I feel an immense sense of gratitude to have had a job were I was able to put all of the once useless knowledge that I've gathered over the years on all things film and TV to actual good use and entertain others with it. I even got some really amazing feedback from such people as Meghan Nicole Dong (creator of Netflix's Centaurworld) and Kyle Houseman Stokes (writer/director of My Dead Friend Zoe). As much as I already miss all of that, I've mourned enough. It's time to move forward.

I recently received the incredible news that a short story I wrote will be edited and included in an upcoming anthology of sci-fi/fantasy tales (more on that later), so I'm hoping that kind of accomplishment is a step towards a bigger dream. I don't know what the hell this blog is going to become (maybe I'll finally get to write those pitches of mine that CBR turned down). I don't even know who would even be interested in what I would ever blog about. But it's here, and it's mine.
